    • What is the Form I-9?

Form I-9 is an employment eligibility form administered by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Mandated by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, it is used to verify the identity and legal authorization to work of all paid employees in the United States.  Every U.S. employer must ensure proper completion of the Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment within the United States.  If an individual is hired to complete work within the United States will be paid for that work, he or she must complete a Form I-9 to verify his or her employment eligibility.
